Photographing your Maltese

White coats are the easiest to overexpose, so avoid direct sun and photograph in soft window light or open shade. Clean any tear stains before the photo, or ask us to leave them out on the proof. Get down to floor level, and make sure the dark eyes and nose are in focus, since they are the only dark points in the picture.

How much does a custom Maltese portrait cost?

From $99 for a frameless 9 x 12 in canvas and from $139 framed in Noir, Craie, Blond or Cacao. A 12 x 16 in canvas is $139 frameless or $189 framed. Shipping is free in the US.

Will a white coat keep its detail on canvas?

Yes, with photos taken in soft daylight. We follow the coat and the cut in your photos, long or puppy cut, and you can ask for changes on the proof.

Can I include 2 or 3 Maltese dogs?

Yes, up to 3 dogs in 1 portrait. The tea table and the hotel bed suit a small pack. Send photos of each dog.

Can you make a Maltese memorial portrait from old photos?

Yes. Send the photos you have, older ones included, and you see a proof before anything is printed.

Is the dog in the examples my dog?

No. The dogs shown are examples. Your canvas is made with your own dog, from the photos you send.

How long does it take?

Your proof comes back within 24 to 48 hours. Once you approve it, printing and finishing take 2 to 3 days (3 to 5 from mid-November through December), and delivery another 1 to 3 days (2 to 4 in that season), so most canvases arrive 3 to 7 days after you order.
