Photographing your Shih Tzu

Hair falls over the eyes, so tie up the topknot or brush the face before the photo. Photograph at floor level in soft daylight, with no flash, which reflects in big dark eyes. Long coats and short puppy cuts both work: send a recent photo so the proof follows the current cut. Gold and white coats need even light to keep both colors.

How much does a custom shih tzu portrait cost?

From $99 for a frameless 9 x 12 in canvas and from $139 framed. Le Dôme, the stained glass dome scene, goes up to 30 x 40 in. Shipping is free in the US.

Will the topknot and coat colors look right?

Yes. We follow your photos for the cut, long or short, the topknot and the colors, gold and white, black, brindle or liver. You can ask for changes on the proof.

Is a shih tzu portrait from L'Atelier a painting?

Can I include 2 or 3 shih tzus?
