Photographing your Shiba Inu

Shibas often refuse to look at the camera, so be patient and photograph at eye level when your dog turns toward a sound. Red coats go orange in sunset light, and midday shade gives the truest color. Send 1 photo that shows the cream markings on the cheeks and chest, and 1 from the side for the curled tail.

How much does a custom Shiba Inu portrait cost?

From $99 for a frameless canvas and from $139 framed. A 24 x 32 in or 32 x 24 in canvas is $209 frameless or $279 framed. Shipping is free in the US.

Do you do red, black and tan, and cream Shibas?

Yes. We follow the coat and the cream markings in your photos, and you can ask for changes on the proof.

Can I include 2 or 3 Shibas?

Yes, up to 3 dogs in 1 portrait. Send photos of each dog, and the proof shows them together.

Can you make a Shiba Inu memorial portrait?

Yes. Send the photos you still have, older ones included. The proof shows the curled tail and fox face first, and you can ask for changes until it feels right.

Is the dog in the examples my dog?

No. The dogs shown are examples. Your canvas is made with your own dog, from the photos you send.

How long does it take?

Your proof comes back within 24 to 48 hours. Once you approve it, printing and finishing take 2 to 3 days (3 to 5 from mid-November through December), and delivery another 1 to 3 days (2 to 4 in that season), so most canvases arrive 3 to 7 days after you order.
