Is the dog in the example the dog I will receive?
The dogs shown are examples. Your canvas is composed with your own dog, using the photos you share with us.
Will I see my artwork before it is printed?
Yes. You receive a digital proof to review. Request unlimited revisions before printing. Nothing prints until we have your approval. You have 72 hours after receiving your proof to approve it or ask for changes. If we have not heard from you by then, we take that as your approval so your canvas is not left waiting.
How many dogs can I include?
Each L'Atelier composition is designed for 1 dog, with the room, lighting and placement balanced around them. However, if you want 2 dogs together, or a scene that is not in the collection at all, that is what Le Sur-Mesure is for. You tell us the dogs and the setting you have in mind, and we build the artwork around them from scratch.
What kind of photo should I upload?
A clear JPG, PNG or HEIC taken in natural light, at your dog’s eye level, is ideal. Make sure their face and markings are visible. You can share 2 to 5 photos.
What if I change my mind?
Each canvas is made for your dog alone, so we cannot refund a change of mind. Until you approve your proof, you can ask for as many changes as you like. If your canvas arrives damaged or misprinted, tell us within 72 hours of delivery and we make you a new one, free.
Does it arrive ready to hang?
Yes. Each canvas arrives with hanging hardware fitted. Choose a framed finish or a clean, frameless canvas.
Can I give it as a gift?
Absolutely. Choose a scene that feels like their dog, share the photos and approve the artwork. A personal piece for the home makes a thoughtful gift.
Can I send canvases to different people in 1 order?
Each order carries 1 shipping address, so a single order sends every canvas in it to the same door. If you are giving canvases to 2 or more people, place a separate order for each of them with that person's address. The artwork for each dog is made separately either way, so nothing is lost by splitting the order.

How long does the whole thing take?
Your proof comes back within 24 to 48 hours. Once you approve it, printing and finishing take 5 to 8 working days and delivery another 1 to 3 days. Most canvases arrive 8 to 17 days after the order, depending on the day you order and how quickly you approve. The estimate on each product page is worked out for today.
Can I choose framed or frameless at every size?
Yes. Every size, panoramic included, is made both framed and frameless, in any of the 4 frame finishes.
What happens at the edge of a frameless canvas?
The artwork continues around the fold, mirrored, so the side of the canvas carries the scene rather than a blank border. Panoramic canvases are 1.25 inches deep and every other format is 0.75 inches.
What are the 4 frame finishes?
Noir, a matte black. Craie, a soft chalk white. Blond, a pale natural wood. Cacao, a deep warm brown. Each is a slim floating frame with a shadow gap between the frame and the canvas.
What if it arrives damaged?
Email us a photo within 72 hours of delivery and we will make you a new one, free. This covers transit damage, print defects, the wrong size and the wrong frame.
Can I order more than 1 size of the same scene?
Yes. Each size is its own piece, so add them to your cart separately. The same approved artwork is used for all of them.
Where do you ship?
Shipping is free to the contiguous United States. We cannot yet ship canvases to Alaska, Hawaii, US territories or outside the United States through the website. Contact us before ordering and we will confirm the cost and the timing for your address.
How should I look after it?
Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from steam. Dust it with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use water or any cleaning product on the canvas surface.
